গত পর্বে Tag Question কি এবং কিভাবে গঠন করা যায় তা নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করা হয়েছে । আজকে আমরা Tag Question এর বিভিন্ন নিয়ম সহজভাবে জানার চেষ্টা করব । আপনি যদি পূর্বের অংশটি কোনভাবে বাদ দিয়ে থাকেন তবে নিচের লিংক থেতে দেখে নিন ।
Tag question এর যত সহজ নিয়ম (Part-2)
Rule-1 : Auxiliary verb থাকলে
Statement এ যদি Auxiliary verb থাকে তাহলে সেই Auxiliary verb কেই tag question এ ব্যবহার করা হয়।
যেমন: Diba has a pen , hasn’t she?
Rule-2 : Auxiliary verb না থাকলে
- Statement এ যদি Auxiliary verb না থাকে তাহলে Auxiliary verb হিসেবে do/does/did, tag question এ ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- Statement এ মূল verb এর present from (v1) থাকলে tag question এ auxiliary verb হিসেবে do বসবে।
যেমন: They play cricket, don’t they?
- Statement এ মূল verb এর present from (v1) এর সাথে s বা es যুক্ত থাকলে tag question এ auxiliary verb হিসেবে does বসবে।
যেমন: Nishat reads the holy Quran, doesn’t she?
- Statement এ মূল verb এর past form (v2) did এর থাকলে tag question এ auxiliary verb হিসেবে did বসবে।
যেমন: We worked hard, didn’t we ?
Rule 3: Imperative sentence দ্বারা যখন শ্রোতার সম্মতি আহবান করা হয় তখন won’t you বসে।
যেমন: Give me a pen, won’t you ? / Come in, won’t you ?
Rule 4: Imperative sentence এ কাউকে কিছু করতে বলা হলে will you বসে।
যেমন: Open the door please , will you? / Work hard to succeed, will you?
Rule 5 : Do not যুক্ত imperative sentence এর শেষে will you বসে।
যেমন: Don’t forget me , will you? / Don’t make a noise , will you?
Rule 6 : Imperative sentence যদি Let us / Let’s দ্বারা শুরু হয় তাহলে shall we বসে।
যেমন: Let’s have a party , shall we ? / Let’s go out for a walk , shall we ?
Rule 7 : Imperative sentence যদি Let him / her / them দ্বারা শুরু হয় তাহলে will you বসে।
যেমন: Don’t forget me , will you? / Don’t make a noise , will you?
Rule 8 : Statement এ have to থাকলে tag question G don’t বসে। আর had to থাকলে tag question এ didn’t বসে।
যেমন: We have to do it, don’t we? / They had to do it , did’t we?
Rule 9 : Statement এ would rather / would better থাকলে tag question এ wouldn’t বসে।
যেমন: You would better go home, wouldn’t you ? / He would rather do the work , wouldn’t he?
Rule 10 : Statement এ had rather / had better থাকলে tag question এ hadn’t বসে।
যেমন: You had better go home, hadn’t you ? / He had rather do the work , hadn’t he?
Rule 11 : Statement এ used to থাকলে tag question এ didn’t বসে।
যেমন: I used to watch T.V, didn’t I ?
Rule 12 : Statement এ need / dare মূল হিসাবে থাকে doesn’t / don’t/ didn’t আর auxiliary verb হিসাবে থাকলে tag question এ daren’t / needn’t বসে।
- যেমন: He needs a car, doesn’t you ? ( need মূল verb হিসাবে)
- We needed a house , did’t we? ( need মূল verb হিসাবে)
- I need to go there, don’t I ? ( need মূল verb হিসাবে)
- We need not hurry now,need we? ( need auxiliary verb হিসাবে)
Rule 13 : Statement এ যদি hardly, barely, rarely, scarecely, seldom, few, neither, never, nobody, little, এর মত negative word থাকে তাহলে tag question টি affirmative হবে।
যেমন: There is little water in the glass, is there ? / A barking dog seldom bites , does it ? / Few people are happy, are they?
Rule 14 : Statement এ যদি ought to থাকলে tag question এ oughtn’t বসে। oughtn’t এর সাথে to বসবে না।
যেমন: You ought to go home, oughtn’t you? / He ought to do the work , oughtn’t he ?
Rule 15 : Statement এ subject হিসেবে যদি ইতর প্রাণী, শিশু বা জড় পদার্থের উল্লেখ থাকে সেক্ষেত্রে tag question হিসেবে it বসে ।
যেমন: The baby is crying for its mother, isn’t it? / The dog is a faithful animal , isn’t it?
Rule 16 : Statement এ subject হিসেবে যদি ট্রেন, জাহাজ, দেশ, বিমান, চাঁদ, পৃথিবী, বসন্ত কাল উল্লেখ থাকে সেক্ষেত্রে tag question G subject হিসেবে it বা she বসে ।
যেমন: The moon has hidden her face behind the cloud, hasn’t it / she? / The spring came with all her beauties, didn’t it / she?
Rule 17: Statement এ subject হিসেবে যদি sun, death, summer, war, winter উল্লেখ থাকে সেক্ষেত্রে tag question G subject হিসেবে it বা he বসে |
যেমন: The sun sheds his beams on the rich and the poor alike, doesn’t it / he? / The summer has set in, hasn’t it / he?
Rule 18 : Exclamatory sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে tag question সাধারণ নিয়ম অনুযায়ী গঠিত হয় ।
যেমন: How beautiful the girl is, isn’t she? / What a fool you are, aren’t you? / How sweetly the bird sings, doesn’t it?
ব্যতিক্রম tag question
- ‘ I’ is a pronoun , isn’t it?
- ‘A’ is a letter, isn’t it?
- Two and two makes four, doesn’t it?
