Dental Admission Circular 2024-2025
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) is the national authority responsible for overseeing BDS admission procedures. As per DGHS, Bangladesh has nine medical colleges, offering a total of 545 seats each academic year for admission. Minimum Requirement for Dental Admission
- The applicant must be a citizen of Bangladesh. Additionally, the applicant should have successfully completed the SSC or its equivalent examination in 2021 or previous year and the HSC or its equivalent examination in 2023 or 2024.
- For all domestic and foreign education programs, the minimum GPA requirement for SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations is 9.00. However, for all tribal candidates from tribal and hill districts, the minimum GPA requirement for SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations is 8.00.
- Applicants are required to achieve a minimum GPA of 4.00 separately in both HSC and SSC exams. Additionally, a minimum GPA of 4.00 in Biology in the HSC/Equivalent exam is mandatory.
Subject Based Dental Exam Mark Distribution
The dental admission test duration will be 1 hour and 1 mark set for each question. In addition, the 0.25 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. Furthermore, candidates will be considered as a fail if unable to achieve 40 marks in the admission test.

Important Information
- Students who passed the SSC exam before the 2022 semester will be ineligible to apply.
- Those who receive less than 40 marks on the written exam will be disqualified.
- The merit list will only include applicants who have passed the exam.
