BUET Admission Circular 2025-2026
BUET is one of the oldest educational institutions in Bangladesh with a rich history. Its roots can be traced back to 1876 when it was established as the Dhaka Survey School. In 1912, it was renamed Ahsanullah Engineering College and later in 1962, after the creation of Pakistan, it was renamed EPUET. Finally, after Bangladesh gained its independence, it was renamed BUET.
Admission to BUET is highly competitive due to the limited number of available seats. Only 1900 students are admitted each year, which makes the admission process quite challenging. Minimum Requirement /Eligibility
- SSC/equivalent examination in 2022 or 2023 and the HSC/equivalent examination in 2024 or 2025.
- SSC with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on a scale of 5.00 in the science department (including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) in the grading system from the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Baird / Madrasa Education Baird / Technical Education Board in Bangladesh.
- To be eligible for admission to BUET, candidates are required to have a GPA of 5.00 on a scale of 5.00 in the HSC/Alim/equivalent examination and the candidates can get 5.00 in Higher Math,, Physics and Chemistry.
- The authority ranked from 1st to 10000th will be eligible to participate in the examination based on the prescribed criteria outlined above. Candidates who meet the required criteria will be selected for the pre-selection test.

Admission Test Schedule
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) admission 2026 will be conducted written admission test, in accordance with health regulations. 10000 students can participate in the written exam based on their primary admission test result.

Mark Distribution of Admission Test
Following the pre-admission test, the top 10000 candidates will be selected to take part in the admission test. It is worth noting that the final admission test will not include multiple-choice questions, and all questions will be in the conventional written format.

How to Apply
To apply for admission to BUET, candidates must submit an online application through the university’s official website at www.buet.ac.bd. The application form must be filled out accurately and submitted within the specified deadline. Additionally, applicants are required to upload a recently taken passport size color photograph (approximately 300×350 pixel and maximum 75 KB size) and a scanned or photographed signature (approximately 300×80 pixel and maximum 20 KB size) in JPG format. It is important to note that the photograph must not have any writing or attestation, and should not be illegible or deformed in any way. These requirements are clearly stated on the BUET website, and must be followed by all applicants.
Note that the photograph and signature will be verified in the examination hall.
After submitting the application with all the information properly, you will get a serial number. Use this Serial Number to send the Application Fee. You can use SureCash or Rocket to send Applications free.

Important Notes to Applicants

If an applicant’s “Receipt of application” is marked with the symbols E, S, T or R, as outlined in Step 1, then online submission of the application form alone will not be sufficient. In addition to submitting the form online, these applicants must also provide a printed copy of the submitted application form and all required documents (as listed in Step 4) within the specified deadline. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the online application. This information is important for applicants to note as they prepare their application materials.

Incomplete or erroneous applications will be canceled. Wrong or false information provided in the application form will lead to the cancellation of the application.

BUET Admit Card 2026
Once the list of eligible candidates for the pre-admission test is published, they can download their BUET admit card for the test by visiting the official website and clicking on the “Download Admit Card” link. It is mandatory to print the admit card on A4 white offset paper (80 GSM) and keep it secure. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without presenting their admit card.
BUET Admission Test Result 2026
The BUET Admission Test Result 2026 is expected to be announced a few weeks after the completion of the admission test. The exact date of the result announcement will be communicated by the university authorities through their official website and other media platforms.
